Upgrade turbo for VAG 2.0-litre TFSI

Owen Developments (UK) Ltd is delighted to announce the launch of an uprated version of the Borg Warner K04 turbocharger as used on the 265bhp variants of 2.0-litre TFSI VAG cars , which will be a bolt-on turbo upgrade for the K03 turbo engines used in the MkV VW Golf GTi, SEAT Leon, Skoda Octavia and Audi A3.

The goals in developing the upgraded unit were to create a bolt-on, direct replacement turbocharger for VAG car owners wanting a significant performance upgrade at an accessible cost level.

Key technical features of Owen Development’s uprated VAG 2.0-litre TFSI Borg Warner K04 turbocharger include:-

- Built from a brand new genuine Borg Warner turbocharger

- Precision remachined ‘cut back’ turbine blades to improve flow

- Ported and polished compressor and exhaust turbine housings to maximise performance

- High quality 360 degree thrust bearing for durability at high boost

- Forge alloy bodied actuator with 15 psi base setting

The Owen’s K04 uprated VAG 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharger is capable of running at a continuous 20psi of boost, with 23psi on overboost. In comparison, the standard continuous boost setting on a MkV Golf GTi is 11psi.
